An extremely well preserved M1898 bayonet, measuring 68 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 52. 5 cm long, nickel plated, magnetic steel blade which retains unspoiled factory original sharpening to the tip. A wide fuller runs the majority of the length of each side of the blade. Stamped onto the obverse ricasso is a makers mark of SIMSON & SO., SUHL. Otherwise unmarked, it sits securely within a
