Tasting the Red

Prunus salicina 'Burgundy' ~ Burgundy Plum black-leaf Miscanthus sinensis 'Zebrinus' () 2019The Burgundy Plum (Prunus salicina 'Burgundy') is a Japanese plum variety known for its dark reddish purple skin and sweet, amber to red flesh. It's a mid season plum that typically ripens in July in most growing zones. Burgundy plums are self fertile, meaning they don't require a pollinator to produce fruit, though they may produce more abundantly with a compatible pollinator nearby. They're excellent for fresh eating, drying, and preserves. Grows
