Instituted September 1st, 1831. In 18kt Yellow Gold, consisting of a Maltese Cross with ball finials, the obverse with a central blue enameled circular disc bearing the leftward facing bust of St. Gregory in Gold, surrounded by a Golden ring inscribed Gregorius Magnus in capitalized lettering, the reverse with a similar central blue enameled circular disc inscribed Pro Deo et Principe (For God and Ruler) in
