Franck Balthazar, Cornas Chaillot, 2023 so0063024 in stock 4th of july offer not for brooding over aloneFranck Balthazar is a third generation Cornas purist who treats his Syrah with a precision and restraint that few in the appellation can match. Chaillot is his benchmark site, a steep granite slope that gives wines of perfume and lift rather than brute force. The 2023 is youthful and tightly wound, with dark berry fruit, cracked pepper, and a smoky, mineral backbone. Built to reward a few years in the cellar, though a long decant unlocks plenty now.
