Danjou-Banessy, Cotes Catalanes Blanc Coste, 2023 Wasenhaus Weiss 090924 or a perfect MartiniPure Macabeu from clay limestone soils above the Agly terraces, this Danjou Banessy white combines classical structure with the brothers' biodynamic finesse. Whole bunch pressed, spontaneously fermented, and aged in large oak without fining or filtration, it opens with pineapple and characteristic smokiness, then unfolds to fennel, apple, and a hint of green Sichuan pepper. A wine that rewards contemplation.
