Stokesia laevis 'Mel's Blue' (Stokes' Aster) Ceramic Named to commemorate the 900thStokes Aster is a North American native wildflower that is a wonderful addition to the sunny border. This wonderfully upright selection produces very large, shaggy, periwinkle blue flowers over a long period which are held high on strong stems. It forms a low mound of grass green foliage, remaining evergreen in mild winter areas. Tolerant of hot, humid summer regions. Great for cutting, and also attractive to butterflies. This needs good drainage,
