Constructed of silvered copper with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with red enameled arms and a central gilt medallion bearing a Lbeck coat of arms, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE 1914 (FOR MERIT IN WAR 1914), unmarked, measuring 39. 66 mm (w) x 42. 73 mm (h), weighing 20. 7 grams, in extremely fine condition.
