Constructed of die struck bronze, the obverse bearing a raised swastika, overlaid by central double Sig runes that are set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing the raised number 8, overlaid by the inscription Fr Treue Dienste in der SS (For Faithful Service in the SS), on a double loop for suspension from its period original ribbon,
