Tenuta di Valgiano Palistorti di Valgiano, Colline Lucchesi, 2023 SO050424_Saumur_Roundup The wine opens with vibrantIn the hills above Lucca, in the often overlooked Colline Lucchesi appellation of northwestern Tuscany, Tenuta di Valgiano farms biodynamically and works largely by hand. Palistorti is their more approachable bottling, a blend led by Sangiovese with Merlot, Syrah, Ciliegiolo and Canaiolo grown at around 300 meters of elevation. Certified organic in 1996 and biodynamic in 2002, the estate prizes composting, cover crops and biodiversity over any recipe.
