It is an easy route with no steep ascending or descending and is a section of the ever popular Coast to Coast Walk. Depending on the time of year the track sides and the river banks can be abundant with a large variety of wild flowers and localised wildlife. If it is easier for access this trail can be done in reverse by parking in Grosmont
