This tile has a molded image of fruits and flowers in a tall handled basket against a blue background surrounded by a veined cafe au lait border

English Victorian Tile Checkerboard with Flowers country and arts and crafts decorAn original English Victorian tile with a checkerboard design of squares of raised flowers. The high relief design is covered in a deep green majolica glaze that thins over the high points to expose the white color of the clay. Measures 6" square. The surface is unworn and remains in excellent condition with only a few flakes around the perimeter. The back is marked ENGLAND, the back pattern suggesting it was made by Henry Richards.
