Michter's 10 year old Bourbon 2014 - 750ml WTMK This is the 1st release

This is the 1st release of Hibiki from 1989 and although it is a non-age-statement it is known to contain single malt whiskies from Hakushu and Yamazaki blended with grain whisky from the Chita distillery with an average age of 17-21 Years and used whiskey as old as 40 years

toffee and warming tannins on the palate

The sides of each box feature a photograph of The Macallan Estate

with some minor legs and scalloping of the swirl line

but it’s amazingly rich and pleasant

They sourced barrels much older than 10 years to give the bourbon a richer, more layered, and something comparable to much older age statements. This was the last year of those sourced older barrels as the 2015 release was noticeably thinner and sweeter.
