Japanese Inro Flower Ball - Earrings Precious Gems dating from the 18th centuryThese earrings are inspired by a Japanese Inro by Kakosai between 1850 and 1900. The original had a gold lacquer inlaid with pearl shell, horn and stained ivory. The Inro was a container used by Japanese men because the traditional kimono had no pockets and the Inro could hold items such as their seal and ink, or medical supplies.
