Painted Hanuman Shutter From Bikaner - 19th Century Architectural Doors foliage and classical motifsThis beautiful painted Indian shutter depicts Hanuman, the is a semi divine monkey being from the Hindu epic Ramayana. Here he is paying homage to Rama and his consort. Rama is attended by his brother and champion Lakshmana. The shutter dates to the 19th century and is in excellent condition apart from a scratch running over the face of Hanuman which is evident in the photos. This style of painting on decorative shutters can only be found in Bikaner
