It has been hand turned on the potters wheel using traditional techniques handed down from one generation to the next by skilled families of master potters. This darker cobalt shade of blue is often called Hongwu blue, characterised by the cobalt blue pigment containing purplish hues. The design is a classical Ming style design and depicts peonies with two lion
