They became incredibly popular with the American market between 1910 / 50 and were therefore shipped all over the world from the workshops in Sarouk which is a village located 30 miles north of the city of Sultanabad (today called Arak) and is famed for it's looms and weavers

The Oak is identifiable by the Medullary rays on the table top. During the Ming period, furniture craftsmen would often create pieces with multiple woods. Given that this piece is made form both Oak and Elm gives it a good age. Usually a family ancestor portrait would be hung above the table & joss sticks lit & placed on the table
