Carved Mirror From The Banswara Tribal Region - 19th Century Reverse Glass Painting An old carved and paintedThis charming Indian hand held mirror is typical of the tribal artwork of Banswara in Southern Rajasthan. The area is prominently populated with Bhil ethnic tribes with their own distinct design styles. Themes include strong geometric carvings around the frame and the prominent use of parrots seen here sitting atop horse heads. Historically the mirror was painted dark green which has worn away in areas revealing a beautifully patinaed teakwood
