Mid Century Modern Wall Tile of Sunflowers, West German Art Pottery Plaque majolica The couple married in 1921A large and sculptural ceramic wall tile with decor of sunflowers rendered in high relief set against a frothy dead matte blue fat lava glaze . It measures 16 1 4" tall and 9" wide and 3 4" thick. There are incised holes on the top edge and wire to facilitate hanging. It's made from a heavy red clay and the back is unmarked but attributed to Ruscha. These plaques were meant to be hung on the walls of a home or garden and used like a ceramic painting.
