This tile was photographed for volume 2 of the four volume set of the Encyclopedia of American art Tile by Norman Karlson

The tile is a solid 1 1/2 inches thick with incised numbers on the back

These tiles once graced the corners of a fireplace surround so there are remnants of mortar and some scattered flakes but the surfaces remain bright and shiny

Interesting inscription on the bottom of where and when it was purchased "Biscaine Ave Miami Fla Febry 1938". Measures 6 1 2" tall and 7" wide. It remains in excellent condition.
