This lovely low teak chair is from Shekavati region of Rajasthan - 19thC Chip carved in traditional style with a strung seat which has been recently replaced

Condition: Good vintage condition with surface wear and patina consistent with age and use

a dragon design has been used

The table is constructed from a mix of poplar & pine woods as is common in the region with a layer of worn black paint

The unique style of architecture is found across the northern band of Rajasthan mainly in Shekhawati and sometimes in Bikaner. These doors would originally have had a dramatic door frame and opened inwards on a pillar and post system.
