I wanted to create a semi abstract work which reflected this light

Flecks of iridescent gold leaf catch and reflect light and suggest sunlight catching shapes within the wheat field

Created in an expressionist style with palette knifed pink poppies

For this reason I would suggest hanging The Forest in a room which receives plenty of natural daylight to fully benefit from the light and warmth and changing aspect of the art

In the heat of summer the clouds would come. Golden yellow mustard fields would sway and ripple in the wind as the storm struck. I think back to those summer days. The yellow flowers shone, they never faded, they never bowed to the wind and rain. When life brings storm clouds I remember the mustard fields.
