John Waters "It's In The Book / Proud New Father" COLOR:GOLD incinerating complacency and innovating outIt's In The Book", first released in time for Christmas, 2002, is John Waters' attempt to portray, in his words, Johnny Standley's "persnickety, droll, intellectually superior comic monologue," a part song, part exhortation on the subject of Little Bo Peep in the manner of a revivalist preacher. The original version of "It's In the Book" was a huge, surprise hit upon it's release in 1952, rising to #1 on the Billboard chart and selling over 1 million
