Lamentation of Christ at Foot of Cross – Rembrandt Size:Sm: 500 x 590 px @ 72ppi | 395KB He looks up and seesThis seventeenth century artwork, attributed to Rembrandt, depicts the Sorrowful Mother Mary, lying on the ground with the limp body of her Son draped across her lap. The friends of Mary support her. The bodies of the two thieves, still hanging on crosses, and the dark clouds in the sky contribute to the heaviness of the sorrowful scene.
