It’s Okay – She Said frozen Skulls are an ongoing subjectThis portrait was created during the EXTERNAL Iran project after an unexpected encounter in a small village on Qeshm Island. While photographing the streets, I was repeatedly discouraged from making portraits. Moments later, Fatemeh stepped outside wearing her traditional clothing and quietly gave permission with a simple sentence: Its okay. Rather than documenting only a person, the photograph reflects trust, dignity and the brief human connection
